In his address to Ambassador Garavito, Marcos stated, “I believe there’s more that we can do, that we can explore many other sectors, and strengthen and deepen the relations between our two countries,” emphasizing the potential for enhanced collaboration. Diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Colombia were established on July 5, 1946, with approximately 100 Filipinos currently residing in Colombia.
Regarding Cambodia, Ambassador Sin expressed his commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both nations. Marcos welcomed him, stating, “I welcome you to the Philippines and I look forward to even stronger relationships between our two countries and to strengthen what is already a very strong union between our two countries.” Diplomatic relations with Cambodia commenced on August 20, 1957, and about 7,500 Filipinos live there as of June 2024.
Ukrainian Ambassador Fediv highlighted her eagerness to foster bilateral relations aimed at promoting peace and prosperity. In response, Marcos affirmed, “We hope to continue – we will always support you in your efforts for peace,” during discussions about potential contributions towards peace initiatives. The Philippines and Ukraine have maintained diplomatic relations since April 7, 1992, and approximately 24 Filipinos currently reside in Ukraine.
