In February 2025, Argentina’s cement production reached 0.74 million tonnes (Mt), marking a 9% increase compared to 0.68 Mt in February 2024. This data was reported by the Asociación de Fabricantes de Cemento Portland, highlighting the positive growth in the sector.
Exports of cement significantly contributed to this growth, amounting to 8,855 tonnes, an impressive rise of 64% from 5,384 tonnes in the same month of the previous year.
Domestic cement consumption also witnessed a notable increase, reaching 0.73 Mt, which is an 8% rise from 0.68 Mt in February 2024. However, imports saw a substantial decline, totaling 212 tonnes, a decrease of 76% from 919 tonnes in February 2024.
The growth in Argentina’s cement production and domestic consumption, coupled with a remarkable rise in exports, reflects a positive trend within the industry. Despite a significant drop in imports, these developments indicate a strengthening local market for cement in Argentina.
