Chirosyn Canada Celebrates 15 Years in Guyana with Symposium and Charity Launch

Chirosyn Canada Inc. is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Guyana with a medical symposium and the launch of a charitable foundation. Founded in 2010, the company has expanded from distributing medicines to manufacturing pharmaceuticals. The symposium will address medical advancements, while the foundation aims to provide free medications to those in need, enhancing healthcare access in Guyana.

Chirosyn Canada Inc., a pharmaceutical company founded in 2010 by Tarlika Persaud and Dr. Sreedhar Cheekoori, is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Guyana by sponsoring a Cardiology and Endocrinology Symposium and launching the “Dr. Cheekoori’s Charitable Foundation.” Initially a distributor of prescription medicines, the company later expanded into manufacturing through its factory in India, exporting a range of medications globally.

The symposium is set to take place on Sunday, March 16, at the Guyana Pegasus Hotel. This event represents the first joint continuing education conference of 2025 sponsored by the Guyana Medical Council and the Guyana Pharmacy Council, featuring experts from Canada and Guyana discussing advancements in various medical fields including cardiology and endocrinology.

Additionally, the newly launched “Dr. Cheekoori’s Charitable Foundation” is designed to provide free medications to financially disadvantaged individuals in Guyana. This initiative, the first of its kind in the country, aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and improve overall health outcomes.

Tarlika Persaud, who holds a Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from McMaster University and has specialized in genetic research, contributed to the Human Genome Project and developed a rapid detection method for metabolic diseases in newborns. Dr. Sreedhar Cheekoori, with a doctorate in organic chemistry, holds patents that have significantly advanced the company’s growth in medicinal innovations.

Chirosyn Canada Inc. is commemorating 15 successful years in Guyana by enhancing medical education and charitable initiatives. The symposium on March 16 is expected to provide valuable insights into medical advancements, while the Dr. Cheekoori’s Charitable Foundation demonstrates a commitment to improving healthcare accessibility in the region. Both efforts highlight the company’s dedication to bettering public health outcomes in Guyana.
