Mr. Norring stated, “We must find sustainable solutions to ensure that water is managed effectively and can be safely reintroduced into circulation,” highlighting the partnership between Denmark and Ghana in tackling these challenges. He further acknowledged Denmark’s long-standing support for Ghana’s development over the past 40 years and its significant role during Ghana’s transition to democracy.
The Ambassador noted that both nations share common interests in security challenges, including terrorism and maritime insecurity in the Gulf of Guinea. Denmark has initiated programs to enhance capacities in combating maritime crimes, demonstrating commitment to international safety. He said, “Denmark also takes the threat of maritime insecurity in the Gulf of Guinea seriously, aligning with Ghana’s concerns in this area.”
Minister Ahmed Ibrahim outlined the historical collaboration with Denmark through the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) across various sectors. He mentioned initiatives like the Danish Support to District Assemblies and offered insights into recent fellowships in change management for ministry staff facilitated by the Danish Embassy.
The Minister highlighted ongoing collaboration with Tema Metropolitan Assembly to effectively manage the Central Sewerage System, necessitated by population growth and improper waste disposal.
