Galileo Resources Advances Exploration Efforts in Northwest Zambia

Galileo Resources PLC has completed two drill holes in Licence 28001, confirming stratigraphy in Northwest Zambia. Geological mapping and data interpretation have identified promising mineralization areas. Future exploration targeting ‘Kamoa-Kakula-type’ copper is planned for after the rainy season, with reduced search areas focusing on the most prospective sites.

Galileo Resources PLC (AIM:GLR) has provided an operational update regarding its exploration activities in Northwest Zambia, specifically in Licence 28001. The company has completed two drill holes, totaling 706.4 meters that have confirmed the stratigraphy of the broader licence area.

In addition to drilling, geological mapping, the interpretation of historical geophysical data, and stream sediment sampling have pinpointed the most promising areas for mineralization within the licence. These findings are crucial as they will help direct future exploration efforts towards potential ‘Kamoa-Kakula-type’ copper mineralization.

Preparations for the next phase of work are underway, scheduled to commence after the rainy season. Chief Executive Colin Bird stated, “Galileo is undertaking geological exploration in its truest sense in the Western Foreland where it has been necessary to first drill to verify that the Licence is located within the Western Foreland domain.” He emphasized the significance of successful exploration in this area, especially since the Western Foreland in the neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) contains the second richest copper mines globally.

The company has effectively narrowed down its search area to the most promising aspects of the Licence and looks forward to its upcoming exploration campaign after the rainy season.

In conclusion, Galileo Resources is making significant advancements in its exploration activities in Northwest Zambia, having completed drilling that confirmed local stratigraphy while identifying promising mineralization areas. The company’s strategic planning for future exploration, particularly targeting ‘Kamoa-Kakula-type’ copper, demonstrates a proactive approach in a region renowned for its valuable copper resources. As they prepare for the next phase post-rainy season, they remain optimistic about their potential discoveries.
