Oriole Resources (AIM: ORR) reports significant drilling results from its Mbe gold project in Cameroon, notably identifying high-grade gold intersections. The campaign has achieved substantial progress, uncovering extensive mineralisation. CEO Martin Rosser highlighted the project’s potential and ongoing strategic refinement of exploration efforts, with further results anticipated in 2025.
Oriole Resources (AIM: ORR) has recently reported promising developments regarding its Mbe gold project in Cameroon. Martin Rosser, CEO of Oriole Resources, expressed satisfaction with the drilling results, noting that they demonstrate the project’s substantial potential. The latest drill hole, MBDD003, showed a high-grade gold intersection of 4.24 metres at 7.7 grams per tonne, which includes a notable 1.72 metres at 18 grams per tonne.
The drilling campaign has achieved over 30% completion at the MB01-S target, with around 2,200 metres drilled across seven holes. These results reveal the extension of gold mineralisation over at least 200 metres horizontally and down to approximately 290 metres vertically. Additionally, the opposite-directed hole MBDD004 provided several intersections and crucial structural data despite yielding fewer mineralised results.
Martin Rosser clarified the objective of the scissor hole approach was primarily for structural insight, rather than just targeting high-grade results. With further exploration, two additional drill holes have been completed, and ongoing efforts aim to refine the geological model and focus on high-grade zones.
Oriole Resources holds a 90% stake in the Mbe project and is conducting a fully funded initial drilling program in collaboration with BCM International, which is currently earning a potential additional 40% interest by investing in the project. Rosser conveyed optimism regarding the drilling continuation, indicating confidence in the findings to bolster the potential for significant gold mineralisation.
In conclusion, Oriole Resources is highlighting the strong potential of its Mbe gold project in Cameroon through significant drilling results. The ongoing exploration has revealed promising intersections and has reinforced the company’s commitment to refining its geological model. This project demonstrates a collaborative effort with BCM International, showcasing confidence in future mining opportunities as further results are anticipated.
