Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Peace in the Niger Delta

Comrade Ayodele Olawande, Nigeria’s Minister of Youth Development, emphasized the government’s commitment to peace in the Niger Delta during a stakeholder engagement. He was represented by Mr. Obinna Nwaka, the Director General of the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS), and addressed key stakeholders including government officials, security agencies, civil society, and community groups.

Organized by Search for Common Ground, the Stakeholder Democracy Network, and the Partnership Initiative for the Niger Delta with support from the European Union, the event focused on a community-centered approach to transforming criminality and violence in the region. Comrade Olawande emphasized the necessity of inclusive dialogues to achieve sustainable peace and commended the organizing bodies for their efforts.
