Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, the Royal Court Advisor and Supervisor-General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, led this multidisciplinary team. He indicated that the surgery began on schedule, with a smooth anesthesia phase and effective sterilization and incision processes.
The most critical part of the procedure, which involved separating the pericardium and liver, was executed successfully with minimal blood loss. Dr. Al Rabeeah noted that this operation highlights both the advanced medical technology in Saudi Arabia and the surgical team’s extensive expertise.
This surgery represents the 62nd operation carried out under the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, a humanitarian initiative endorsed by the Kingdom’s leadership.
