He emphasized the need for an immediate halt to hostilities in the Palestinian territories and assured the unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid.
Ambassador Al-Hayen expressed grave concern regarding the ongoing violations of International Humanitarian Law and the UN Charter by the occupying power, Israel. He highlighted the dire situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, which has been marked by extensive destruction and civilian displacement, particularly citing the latest events in Jenin refugee camp.
Furthermore, he denounced the use of double standards concerning humanitarian issues, reiterating Kuwait’s commitment to supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the Arab peace initiative.
