In light of her dire circumstances, the medical team at UC Davis has requested that Ms. Shinde’s father travel to the United States promptly to participate in the planning of her medical care. A letter from California State University confirmed her precarious condition, stating, “the patient’s father must assist the UC Davis Medical Center care team with making Ms. Shinde’s medical care planning decisions.” Presumably, this is necessitated by her intubation and status on life support.
The family was informed of her shocking accident two days post-incident, and they applied for a visa shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, their application has been pending since February 16. Mr. Kadam noted, “She lost her mother a year ago to a brain tumour and her father is very old,” highlighting the family’s challenging situation as they work towards securing the necessary support.
