The fourth iteration of the Italy-Tanzania Business Forum commenced in Dar es Salaam at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre. The opening ceremony welcomed various Italian and Tanzanian companies and institutions, featuring notable attendees such as Fabrizio Lobasso from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mahmoud Kombo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Giuseppe Coppola, the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania.
Supported by Confindustria, Assafrica e Mediterraneo, Ance, FederUnacoma, and Ucima alongside the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), the forum showcases a diverse program over two days. Italian enterprises will have the opportunity to present their business models and explore potential partnerships with Tanzanian counterparts.
Ambassador Coppola noted, “The Business forum is a particularly successful example of integrated promotion… The objective is to offer Tanzania financial, insurance, and promotional tools to increase its competitiveness in international markets and favour direct exchanges with Italy.” This emphasis aims to enhance industrial and commercial collaboration between the two nations.
Giuseppe Manenti, Director of Ice Nairobi, remarked on the two weeks of Italian representation in Tanzania, which included the Innova Lab training for local agribusinesses and the ‘Adi Compasso d’Oro’ exhibition. These activities collectively aim to present Italian excellence to the Tanzanian market and lay the foundation for future cooperation between Italy and Tanzania.
