Belararox has identified over 20 copper mineralization targets in Botswana’s Kalahari Copper Belt through soil sampling and geophysical data analysis. A planned drilling program, along with various survey initiatives, is set to commence by July 2025 to assess these potential targets.
Belararox (ASX: BRX) has detected over 20 areas of interest in its Kalahari Copper Belt (KCB) Project located in Botswana, utilizing soil sample geochemistry. The identified anomalies, which indicate a correlation of copper and zinc, are distributed across six tenements. A comprehensive review of existing geological and geophysical data has pinpointed three regions with notable prospectivity, strategically positioned along strike from established copper deposits.
The company is set to initiate advanced surveys, including AMT and ground-based gravity surveys in two of the regions, whilst airborne electromagnetic surveys will be conducted in a third area to further refine potential drill targets. A 2,000-meter reverse circulation (RC) drilling program is planned for July 2025 to examine these targets. The KCB Project’s location is advantageous, being in proximity to significant copper ore deposits such as Sandfire’s Motheo Copper Mine and MMG’s Khoemacau Mine.
In conducting soil sampling across six tenements in the north-eastern KCB region, Belararox collected and analyzed a total of 1,984 samples with the pXRF Vanta method. Validation of the data was achieved through wet chemistry analysis performed at the ALS-Johannesburg laboratory. Additionally, publicly available geophysical data has undergone processing by Fathom Geophysics to delineate deeper structural features.
Exploration has concentrated on three pivotal areas: the north-eastern vicinity of Maun, the central region close to the MMG Khoemacau Hub, and the western section adjacent to Cobre’s Kitlanya West and Ngami prospects. Upcoming surveys will entail ground-based gravity assessments for PL0085, PL2742, and PL2746; AMT investigations for PL770, PL771, and PL772; and airborne electromagnetic evaluations for PL773 and PL2743. These surveys are designed to uncover high-potential targets for the planned drilling, which may encompass diamond drilling to explore target units and stratigraphy, commencing in July 2025.
