Marcos communicated with Colombian Ambassador Edgar Rodrigo Rojas Garavito, emphasizing the shared aspiration for lasting peace and development between the nations. Formal diplomatic relations were established on July 5, 1946, and there are currently around 100 Filipinos residing in Colombia.
Regarding Cambodia, Marcos noted the strong foundation between the two countries, expressed by Ambassador Sin Saream’s commitment to enhance cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations. Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Cambodia were formalized on August 20, 1957, with approximately 7,500 Filipinos living in Cambodia as of June 2024.
In discussions with Ukrainian Ambassador Yuliia Oleksandrivna Fediv, Marcos reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to support peace efforts in Ukraine. Diplomatic relations were established on April 7, 1992, and about 24 Filipinos currently reside in Ukraine. Fediv expressed her eagerness to promote peace and prosperity through bilateral relations.
