Vietnam regards Mozambique as a key partner in Africa, valuing the longstanding friendship and collaboration between the two countries. The commitment to enhance solidarity and cooperation for mutual interests and global peace was emphasized by Vietnamese Ambassador Trần Thị Thu Thìn during her credential presentation to Mozambican President Daniel Francisco Chapo in Maputo on March 19.

President Chapo warmly congratulated Ambassador Thìn on her new role, expressing confidence in her potential to significantly contribute to strengthening relations. He noted the successful partnership represented by Movitel, a joint venture between Viettel Group of Vietnam and Mozambique’s SPI company, indicating a positive trajectory in bilateral relations. He anticipated that more Vietnamese businesses would invest in Mozambique moving forward.

Ambassador Thìn expressed her intent to fortify the friendly ties and broaden cooperation across various sectors, particularly in mining, telecommunications, information technology, and digital transformation.
