A dedicated member of SWAPO, the ruling party in Namibia, Nandi-Ndaitwah joined at the young age of 14 during the struggle against South African apartheid. Her political journey includes leading the SWAPO youth league and enduring arrest due to her activism, which led to her taking refuge abroad. Since Namibia’s independence in 1988, she has been entrusted with several significant ministerial roles across various sectors, such as foreign affairs, information, tourism, and child welfare.
