The colloquium featured panels such as “Reprogramming the Net: Strategies to Mitigate Polarization and Hate Speech in Digital Environments,” led by journalist José Manzaneda, and “Technologies for Emancipation: Alternative Communication and Information Sovereignty in the Global South,” which included insights from Jorge Arreaza and Sacha Llorenti. These discussions explored innovative strategies for addressing contemporary communication challenges.
Numerous notable scholars and experts participated in the event, including Pascual Serrano, Carlos Penalva, Alina Duarte, and Gabriela Rivadeneira, among others. They shared perspectives on the strategies of the global South, the role of media in shaping political landscapes, and how digital consumption is evolving amid the dominant narratives from the West.
