During a meeting with the German ambassador, Vadiati criticized the manipulation of the UNHRC and the misuse of human rights as a means to pressure Iran. She pointed out Germany’s controversial human rights history, highlighting the provision of chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war.
In her discussions with the British charge d’affaires, Vadiati emphasized Britain’s long-standing interference in Iranian affairs and condemned the UK’s consistent anti-Iran stance at the UNHRC. She described these actions as “unconstructive measures” that undermine the credibility of human rights institutions affiliated with the UN.
Furthermore, Vadiati condemned both Germany and the UK for their support of Israel’s alleged war crimes against Palestinians and for their alignment with US sanctions impacting the Iranian populace. She asserted that neither country is in a valid position to claim advocacy for human rights.
Following the discussions, both envoys assured Vadiati that they would relay Iran’s protest to their respective governments.
