FCTA Approves N242.8 Million for Microsoft 365 Licence to Enhance Revenue Operations

The FCTA has approved a N242.8 million investment for a Microsoft 365 licence to digitise the operations of FCT-IRS, enhancing revenue collection and operational efficiency. Announced by Mr. Michael Ango, this initiative will automate processes, improve communication, and support government revenue goals.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) endorsed a major investment of N242.8 million for a Microsoft 365 licence intended to digitize the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service’s (FCT-IRS) operations. This decision was announced by Mr. Michael Ango, Acting Executive Chairman of FCT-IRS, following a meeting of the FCT Executive Committee, led by Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja on Wednesday.

Mr. Ango indicated that the FCTA is dedicated to significant technological investments to enhance revenue generation and collection efficiencies in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He highlighted, “This is also one of those investments in technology that the FCT is undertaking. The licence, if procured, will enhance our ability to move most of our manual processes into automated processes. It will enhance our ability to communicate within our offices.”

The procurement of the Microsoft 365 licence aims to automate numerous manual processes, thereby improving internal communication and overall operational efficiency. Furthermore, it is expected to decrease paper usage and enhance record-keeping by allowing for the storage of important documents and information in the cloud.

Mr. Ango pointed out that the digitisation initiatives would significantly improve FCT-IRS operations and support the government’s objective of increasing revenue for the better development of the Federal Capital Territory under Mr. Wike’s leadership.

In conclusion, the FCTA’s approval of N242.8 million for a Microsoft 365 licence represents a pivotal step towards digitizing the operations of the FCT-IRS. This investment underscores the commitment to enhance revenue generation and operational efficiency, ultimately facilitating better governance and resource management in the Federal Capital Territory.
