Following secondary school, he commenced a teaching career at the age of 17, beginning at Fisher Primary School in Golden Fleece in 1976.

In 1980, he transitioned to Port Kaituma Primary School due to his father’s relocation as an agricultural officer to Region One. After five years, he returned to the Essequibo Coast, where he continued to teach at Sparta Primary School and later at St Laurence Anglican Primary School, now known as Hampton Court Primary School. In pursuit of better wages, he left teaching in 1992 to manage the Lima Fish Port Complex, where he worked for five years before becoming the Regional Information Officer at the Regional Democratic Council, remaining until his retirement in 2015.

Though officially retired, Prabhulall sought public office in 2018, winning the mayorship of Anna Regina. After completing his two-year term, he successfully ran again, highlighting his commitment to the community. Additionally, he served as pastor of the Voice of Faith Ministries, leaving behind a significant legacy in both education and public service.
