Germany has delivered 32 trucks to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation to support the humanitarian corridor to Gaza. JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli praised Germany’s ongoing support, which will significantly enhance aid delivery. Medical aid has also been sent to Jordan’s field hospitals operating in Gaza, with a commitment to continued support for humanitarian efforts in the region.

The German government has recently provided 32 additional trucks to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) to enhance the humanitarian corridor to Gaza, which is currently affected by conflict. In a ceremony marking the delivery, JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli expressed heartfelt appreciation for Germany’s ongoing support. He noted that this contribution would significantly improve the capacity to provide essential aid to the people in Gaza.

Shibli highlighted the critical need for international solidarity in addressing humanitarian crises and reaffirmed JHCO’s commitment to collaborating with partners for the safe delivery of aid. German Ambassador to Jordan, Bertram von Moltke, referred to the corridor as “a lifeline for Gaza,” emphasizing its importance in meeting urgent humanitarian needs. He expressed hope that Germany’s ongoing support would facilitate the delivery of vital assistance to those in need.

In conjunction with the truck deliveries, the Jordan Armed Forces, through the Royal Medical Services, received a seventh batch of medical aid from Germany containing essential medicines and medical equipment. This event was attended by Brigadier General Sahel Hammouri, who expressed gratitude for the German aid. Since 2023, approximately 16 tonnes of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals have been provided to support Jordan’s operational field hospitals in Gaza.

Ambassador von Moltke commended the Royal Medical Services for their critical role in ensuring the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Furthermore, Hammouri emphasized the importance of international cooperation in humanitarian emergencies to save lives and provide effective medical care in the region, underlining the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

The delivery of 32 trucks from Germany to the JHCO aims to strengthen humanitarian efforts in Gaza amidst ongoing challenges. This initiative, coupled with the provision of medical supplies, highlights the significance of international cooperation in crisis response. Continued support such as that from Germany is essential for effectively addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of the affected populations in Gaza.
