Hankook Tire & Technology has announced its participation as the official tire supplier for Round 3 of the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), the Safari Rally Kenya, occurring from March 20 to 23. This event will navigate the rugged terrain of Nairobi and Nakuru counties, primarily focusing on Naivasha and its surrounding areas, and is considered one of the most challenging in the WRC calendar.

The Safari Rally Kenya is distinguished by its diverse and demanding landscape, presenting a formidable test for both drivers and machines. The course spans approximately 385 kilometers, featuring 21 stages that include tough rocky paths and unpredictable weather conditions, all of which challenge endurance and performance.

To enhance performance in the rally, Hankook Tire will utilize the Dynapro R213 tire, specially engineered for extreme-terrain rallies. This tire provides superior durability and traction necessary for unpaved surfaces, featuring reinforced construction to resist cuts and punctures while offering exceptional grip and handling. It is available in two compounds: soft and hard, to adapt to varying terrain requirements.

Hankook has engaged in an extensive testing program since 2023, collaborating with the FIA and various manufacturers, successfully accumulating over 2,000 kilometers of testing to ensure their tires meet the intense demands of the rally. These tires are designed to optimize performance in the specific conditions of the Safari Rally Kenya.

Currently, Elfyn Evans and co-driver Scott Martin lead the championship standings with 61 points after a victory at Rally Sweden. Hankook will prominently feature its global brand during the Safari Rally Kenya, ensuring visibility across service parks and rally displays while leveraging their online platforms to engage motorsport enthusiasts worldwide.

In addition to the WRC, Hankook Tire supplies racing tires for around 70 motorsport events globally and sponsors multiple racing teams. The diverse data drawn from these competitions aids in continuously refining tire technology, resulting in high-quality products for both racing and consumer markets.

The 2025 WRC Safari Rally Kenya, sponsored by Hankook Tire, represents a significant event in the motorsport calendar. With advanced tire technology specifically designed for demanding conditions, Hankook is set to support the global rally teams in this competitive environment. As the championship progresses, the performance of drivers, such as Elfyn Evans, may highlight the effectiveness of Hankook’s state-of-the-art tires in such challenging terrains.
