The Angola Service Area on I-90 has officially reopened, featuring popular eateries such as Shake Shack, Panda Express, and Chick-fil-A. This revitalization is part of a $450 million investment in the 27 service areas along the Thruway, enhancing amenities for travelers and ensuring modern conveniences.

The New York State Thruway Authority has announced the opening of the Angola Service Area on I-90, which serves both eastbound and westbound travelers. This newly opened site is the 26th service area to be renovated as part of a significant $450 million investment aimed at modernizing all 27 service areas along the Thruway.

The Angola Service Area features a variety of dining options including Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A, and Panda Express. Additionally, upcoming openings include Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon. The facility also comprises three Starbucks locations, with one located within the restaurant building and two Drive-Thru options available in the parking lots for ease of access.

Further amenities at the Angola Service Area consist of outdoor seating, dog walking areas on both sides of the highway, a private nursing area, and a digital tourism kiosk. For electric vehicle users, there will be four Level 3 high-speed EV chargers available at a later date.

The Thruway Authority has emphasized that all service areas along I-90 from Albany to the Pennsylvania state line are now operational. Executive Director Frank G. Hoare, Esq. remarked on this achievement, noting it as a crucial milestone in the Service Area Redevelopment Project as it enhances the journey for motorists along the Thruway.
