The UAE and Sweden have signed an agreement for political consultations, enhancing cooperation in economy, trade, education, and culture. The signing occurred during Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to Sweden, where he met key officials, including the Swedish Minister of Defence.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sweden formalized a partnership through an agreement on political consultations aimed at enhancing cooperation in multiple sectors such as economy, trade, education, and culture. This agreement was reached during discussions between His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, and Swedish Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard in Stockholm. Sheikh Abdullah is currently on an official visit to Sweden.
In addition to the political consultation agreement, Sheikh Abdullah also engaged in discussions with Swedish Minister of Defence Pål Jonson. Furthermore, he and Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, oversaw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) intended to promote investment and business prospects between the two nations.
The recent agreement between the UAE and Sweden serves as a pivotal step in fostering diplomatic efforts and enhancing multifaceted cooperation.
