Pakistani forces successfully intervened, neutralizing all 33 terrorists and rescuing the passengers. Nonetheless, the assault resulted in the tragic loss of 21 civilians prior to the operation, alongside the martyrdom of four Frontier Corps personnel during the rescue mission.
In addition to discussing the Jaffar Express attack, the spokesperson condemned Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza and its cessation of electricity supply. He characterized these actions as a systematic effort by Israel to weaponize aid and dehumanize the Palestinian population, emphasizing the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, civilian protection, and humanitarian access for those in need.
Khan also addressed the ongoing Israeli assaults on civilians in the West Bank and Gaza, calling for accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Moreover, he criticized the Indian government’s classification of the ‘Awami Action Committee’ and ‘Jammu and Kashmir Ittihad-ul-Muslimeen’ as unlawful for a five-year period, noting that this would further suppress political dissent in the region and violate democratic principles.
Khan urged India to cease restrictions on Kashmiri political entities and to adhere to UN Security Council resolutions concerning Jammu and Kashmir. He condemned proposals suggesting the resettlement of Palestinians in other nations, advocating instead for a sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, and emphasized the importance of a two-state solution for enduring peace.
