He reaffirmed that economic, financial, and banking reforms are critical to restoring confidence in Lebanon. The IMF delegation also urged the appointment of a new BDL governor and the creation of a unified data center for the Finance Ministry, as well as legislative improvements to banking secrecy and restructuring laws.
Regarding regional security, President Aoun reported that security agencies are coordinating closely with defense and interior ministries to monitor developments in Syria, ensuring adequate preparedness. Additionally, he announced the release of five Lebanese prisoners who had been held by Israel, attributing their return to indirect negotiations.
