Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated that Russia will refrain from commenting on the proposals until direct discussions have taken place with the U.S. However, sources close to the Kremlin have informed Reuters that President Putin is unlikely to accept the ceasefire in its current form, expressing that Moscow’s concerns need to be addressed.
Senator Marco Rubio, addressing reporters in Ireland, stated that Washington intends to engage Moscow “directly” regarding the ceasefire agreement. He emphasized that Ukraine is willing to cease battlefield activities and initiate negotiations aimed at resolving the war sustainably.
