The consistent rise in visitor numbers reinforces Morocco’s status as a leading global tourism destination.

In February alone, the country welcomed close to 1.4 million arrivals, reflecting a 22% increase or 248,000 more visitors than in the same month last year. Fatim-Zahra Ammor, the Minister of Tourism, stated, “Adding half a million visitors in just two months underlines Morocco’s place among the world’s leading destinations.” She emphasized the direct economic impact of tourism, noting that each visitor contributes to regional economies and job creation, thereby supporting youth inclusion and enhancing the overall ecosystem.

Morocco successfully surpassed its tourism target by achieving 17.4 million visitors by the end of 2024, two years ahead of the original goal set for 2026. As tourism solidifies its role as a foundational element of the Moroccan economy, the Ministry of Tourism and the Moroccan Tourism Office (ONMT) are committed to further advancing and modernizing the sector.

The Moroccan government is strategically collaborating with global travel agencies and airlines to sustain and enhance tourist attraction through various initiatives. This strategy aims to continue the momentum of Morocco’s tourism growth both organically and through strategic partnerships.

In summary, Morocco is witnessing remarkable tourism growth, achieving nearly 2.7 million arrivals by February 2025, marking a 24% increase from the previous year. The Minister of Tourism, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, highlights the significant economic benefits of this growth.
