ACUD and the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Cairo have signed a land sale agreement for new embassy headquarters in the New Administrative Capital’s Diplomatic District. The embassy’s relocation signifies enhanced diplomatic ties. Both parties recognize the importance of the modern infrastructure in this new hub, which will centralize diplomatic missions currently scattered in Cairo.
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) and the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Cairo have formalized a land sale agreement for a 5,000-square-meter site intended for the construction of new embassy headquarters and the ambassador’s residence in the New Administrative Capital’s Diplomatic District. The agreement was executed by Khaled Abbas, ACUD’s Chairperson and Managing Director, and Albert G. Dole, Côte d’Ivoire’s Ambassador to Egypt, with representatives from both sides in attendance.
Ambassador Dole expressed his contentment with the embassy’s move, indicating that it aligns with the directives of the Ivorian President. He stated, “We are delighted to be in the NAC, following the directives of the Ivorian President. This move is a testament to the strong ties between our two nations.” Dole noted the significance of relocating to the NAC, highlighting its advanced infrastructure and suitability for diplomatic activities.
Khaled Abbas commended the agreement, recognizing the value of Côte d’Ivoire’s embassy in the new Diplomatic District. He remarked, “We are pleased to sign this agreement, paving the way for the embassy’s relocation… The presence of Côte d’Ivoire’s embassy is a valuable addition to the district.” Abbas also mentioned that the number of embassies moving to the New Administrative Capital is growing, enhancing its status as a sophisticated diplomatic area.
The first phase of the master plan for the New Administrative Capital includes the Diplomatic District, designed to consolidate all foreign embassies and diplomatic missions geographically scattered across Cairo. This initiative aspires to establish a centralized diplomatic hub, thereby reinforcing the capital’s position as an essential global and regional diplomatic center.
The recent agreement with the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire continues ACUD’s mission to attract diplomatic missions to the New Capital, following several similar agreements, including a previous one with the Embassy of Algeria in Cairo.
The agreement between ACUD and the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire emphasizes the commitment to enhancing diplomatic infrastructure in Egypt. The successful relocation of the embassy to the New Administrative Capital’s Diplomatic District marks a significant step in solidifying diplomatic ties between Egypt and Côte d’Ivoire. This endeavor reflects broader efforts to develop a modern diplomatic hub that supports international relations effectively.
