Previously, in December 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kuwait, where he engaged with Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait. Their discussions aimed to deepen relations between India and Kuwait, exploring areas such as pharmaceuticals, IT, FinTech, and security, and culminating in an agreement to develop a ‘Strategic Partnership.’
During PM Modi’s visit, he was honored with a ceremonial welcome and a Guard of Honour at the Bayan Palace. Additionally, Kuwait’s Prime Minister Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received PM Modi on the second day of his visit. Both leaders highlighted the longstanding friendly relations and committed themselves to enhancing bilateral cooperation.
In a follow-up post, PM Modi expressed optimism regarding the strengthened partnership with Kuwait, emphasizing the potential for collaboration in critical sectors. He noted, “We have elevated our partnership to a strategic one and I am optimistic that our friendship will flourish even more in the times to come.”
