Ethiopia commemorated International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, 2025, embracing the theme “Rapid and Sustainable Comprehensive Change through Women’s Participation.” Celebrations occurred across the nation, prominently in Koye Feche Sub-city, Sheger City, where Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, was joined by government officials and key stakeholders.
In Gambella, regional government leaders participated in the celebration, including Meskerem Abebe, Vice President of the Prosperity Party’s Women’s Wing, who highlighted women’s essential roles in leadership, diplomacy, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.
