The incident occurred at Buckas Scheme, located on Third Street in Trench Town, Kingston, where the 36-year-old woman, a vendor, sustained serious injuries during a heated argument with Roberts.
Reports indicate that, around 7:40 pm, the confrontation escalated when Roberts retrieved a firearm from his waistband and shot the woman, hitting her in the left hand and chest. Following the shooting, the woman attempted to escape but collapsed and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities have confirmed that the quarrel stemmed from her current relationship, and it has also been revealed that Roberts is affiliated with the Buchas Gang in the community. The police are keeping a close watch on the area due to potential reprisals in connection with this incident.
The police have requested that Roberts reports to the Denham Town Police Station by 6:00 pm on Thursday to provide information regarding the situation.
