Celebrating Ghana’s 68th Independence Day: Special Data Bundle Offer

Ghana celebrates its 68th Independence Day with a special data bundle offer from MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana. For GHS10, users can access 6GB of data, significantly higher than usual offerings. The bundle activates through distinct USSD codes for each provider and will be valid for three days.

In celebration of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, led by President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, announced a crucial partnership with three principal telecommunications companies: MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana. As part of this initiative, Hon. Sam George, Minister of Communication, reported that these providers are launching a limited-time Independence Day Data Bundle priced at GHS10 for 6GB of data, a significant increase from the traditional 1GB offerings and 3GB holiday promotions.

Sam George highlighted the overarching goal of this initiative, stating that it aims to “build enablers for a truly digitalized Ghana,” thereby empowering citizens to leverage global opportunities from their homes. The special data bundle is structured not only as a celebration but also as an avenue to encourage digital engagement among Ghanaians.

To activate the Independence Day Bundle, users must follow specific steps depending on their telecom provider. For MTN Ghana, subscribers should dial 138, select Option 2 for Special Day Bundle, choose the Independence Day package, and adhere to the prompts to finalize the purchase. Telecel Ghana users must dial 700, navigate to the special data bundle section, select the Independence Day offer, and confirm. Meanwhile, AT Ghana subscribers should dial *567, select Option 3 for Special Offers, then choose the Independence Day bundle to complete their transaction.

Minister Sam George reiterated his Ministry’s commitment to presenting a detailed roadmap aimed at sustainably lowering data costs in Ghana. He stated that on March 7, 2025, the Ministry would unveil strategies targeting short, medium, and long-term objectives to enhance internet affordability, integral to Ghana’s digital transformation.

This special data bundle will only be accessible on Independence Day, March 6, 2025, and will remain valid for three days following activation. To maximize benefits from this offer, users should promptly activate their packages before the expiration date.

In summary, the launch of the Independence Day Data Bundle represents a significant milestone in Ghana’s digital advancement, offering 6GB of data at an affordable price. With unique activation processes for each telecom provider, Ghanaians are encouraged to take advantage of this offer on March 6, 2025. In alignment with future digital initiatives, the Ministry aims to continuously pursue strategies to lower data costs and facilitate broader access to internet services for citizens.
