Ambassador Ejaz pointed out that the growing Pakistani community in Portugal, numbering around 50,000, fosters connections between the two countries. He noted that approximately 300 Pakistani students are enrolled in various universities, including 83 at the University of Coimbra, underscoring the importance of their integration into Portuguese society across sectors like IT and innovation.

Moreover, the Ambassador shared insights on cultural connections, mentioning that Urdu contains numerous words borrowed from Portuguese. He highlighted the increasing interest in learning Portuguese within Pakistan. A notable cultural achievement includes the translation of the Portuguese book ‘Blank Gaze’ by Mr. Jose Luis Peixoto into Urdu, furthering cultural ties.
