He noted that there should not be a disproportionate concentration of AI tools within specific corporate sectors or geographic areas.
Ambassador Singla highlighted India’s expertise in creating digital public infrastructure as a benefit to the global community. As he stated, “One of the two things which India brings when it comes to AI is its expertise in developing the digital public infrastructure as a public good. And that’s India’s strength, we have several examples of developing that and using that, and that’s something we can offer to the rest of the world.”
On the topic of Indo-French relations, Mr. Singla described the robust partnership between India and France, which has been in place for over 25 years. He referenced past significant diplomatic events, including Prime Minister Modi and President Macron’s roles as chief guests at each other’s national celebrations, and noted the anticipation surrounding the upcoming year of innovation, with President Macron expected to attend.
After the AI summit, Prime Minister Modi plans to engage in bilateral discussions and will participate in the India-France CEOs forum. On February 11, he is set to travel to Marseille, where President Macron will host a dinner in his honor. Additionally, during his visit, Prime Minister Modi will pay tribute to Indian soldiers who fought in World War I by visiting a military cemetery on February 12, as well as traveling to Cadarshe, the site of an international thermal nuclear experimental reactor.
