Dominic Mwandira, the commissioner for Malawi’s Nsanje district, highlighted the desperate situation, noting that the asylum seekers are in dire need of humanitarian support as they have found temporary shelter in various sites across the district.
The post-election climate in Mozambique has been fraught with upheaval, as major cities experienced chaos due to widespread protests following the announcement of election results. According to the Mozambique Industry and Commerce Ministry, at least 150 businesses were vandalized amid the violence.
